A powerful undersea earthquake rattled the Aleutian Islands region on Tuesday, sending shockwaves through the sparsely populated volcanic archipelago. The seismic event struck at 18:51:04 UTC, registering a magnitude of 6.0.

The epicenter was located approximately 101 kilometers southeast of False Pass, a remote maritime community nestled on Unimak Island. Dense, low-hanging fog and typical damp winds shrouded the coastal settlement as the deep-seated tremors occurred.
